FaceBook COO Could Have Worked for LinkedIn

images (2)The choices we make in life that could have made it so different. Apparently Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, was given the opportunity to become CEO of business social media site LinkedIn back in 2006. This is according to her recent book in which she says Reid Hoffman offered her the post while she was still working with Google. At the time she felt that she was not ready for such a post and wanted to have another child.
Obviously later she was given the post of COO at Facebook which has turned out to be very lucrative for the exec. She currently owns shares in Facebook worth around $700 million which were originally worth about a billion so she did lose a little there. However, in terms of what she would have had if she had joined LinkedIn she is still doing much better. It is estimated she would have had about $200 million in shares with LinkedIn when it IPOd which now would be worth just $292 million.
