Great News for Google+

The rise has been meteoric and to some surprising considering early indications, but it is now undeniable Google+ is a social media force. This is cemented as a fact thanks to statistics from December which show that Google+ is now the second most popular social media site behind Facebook. As a result the Google owned media site surpasses Twitter, which formerly held the coveted second spot.

According to the statistics from Trendstream, Google+ had more than 343 million active monthly users, around 55 million more than Twitter. This usership awarded Google+ a 25 percent share of the global social media users. The site will still have its work cut out to catch up with Facebook, however, who has a commanding 51 percent share with around 693 million active monthly users.
