It really shouldn’t be surprising if you stop to think about it, but LinkedIn user profiles with a profile picture are more attractive to employers than ones without. A recent study seems to have proven this with a vast number of the employers polled expressing more interest in profiles with pictures. The results showed that users were more likely to receive an interview if they had a profile picture.
Employers seem to feel that being able to see what an applicant looks like can help them develop a positive or negative opinion early on. So of course if you are going to have a profile picture then something from spring break may not be a good idea. Professional images with you looking your best are the way to go, something to make the right impression and keep the employer reading on to find out why you are perfect for the job.
I use pictures on all of my social profiles. It’s basically necessary.
It’s really important to have your actual picture on your social sites. Potential employers want to see the person they’re considering working with. It’s a more personal level than simply a blank face.
