It would seem that despite the removal of YouTube as a preset app from iOS devices users are inclined to go in search of it. YouTube is still available as a stand alone downloadable app and apparently as of late December almost half of iOS users have downloaded it. This impressive coverage comes just 3 months after it being released as a stand alone app.
YouTube is currently therefore the most popular Google owned app on iOS devices closely followed by Google Maps with 29% coverage.
